Local 853 members at three warehouse facilities had an opportunity to meet Central States VP Tom Erickson, who heads up the IBT Warehouse Division and Joint Council 7 President Jason Rabinowitz at their own facilities in January. The two leaders, along with Business Reps Ray Torres, Cesar Martinez, Mike Henneberry, and Efren Alarcon visited members at Sysco San Francisco (Fremont), Core-Mark (Hayward), and Costco Business Services (Hayward).
Erickson was in Northern California to hold a meeting with the Business Reps from across the Joint Council who represent a wide variety of warehouse workers, to discuss current issues and concerns, network among those with contracts with the same employer, and share information about future trends, such as automation.
